This quote was received earlier this year from one of our customers and once again we are humbled by their insight their loyalty. Of course the observation was both accurate and astute. Not to knock the big retailers, they do things that we could never compete with. These big stores, great retailers all, have brick and mortar stores, warehouses and distribution centers all over the place. This adds up to convenience and competitive advantages a small outfit like ours couldn't even dream of competing with.
Having said that, all of the advantages they have in retailing are disadvantages in the first aid kit world. They can’t begin to bring the focus we provide for this industry, they are too busy moving Ensure® and filling prescriptions.
The big retailers are going to offer you what they have in their distribution chains, period. What goes into that distribution chain is necessarily going to be limited because they only allocate so much shelf space for any product category.
